I was having a great time reading blog posts and being inspired over at tatertots & jello when I ran across the “Share Your [Holiday] Messy Moment” and I just knew that I had to share this memory and participate in the Bleach Away Contest.
You know that moment when you have cleaned your whole house for the holidays, that moment when you breath a sigh of relief and think about running out to Starbucks to treat yourself to a gingerbread latte. I was in that moment when my son (the one I had been trying to get to call me back for the past hour) showed up in the front hallway on the CLEAN marble floor.
After the shock, the “Where are your shoes?” and his inability to stop laughing; he informed me that he and his life long BFF went to walk AROUND Lake Pine (which is currently drained for repairs) and ended up racing THROUGH where the lake is supposed to be. Here are pics from their cell phones.
And a few more…
Anna’s mom was with them and video taped the “race”!
It makes my heart happy (mess and all) to know that even at 15 years old, these two still are always up for messy adventures in the outdoors. They have been exploring our little town for years and probably know the creeks, ponds and woods better than any.
I am just waiting for them to learn to keep the mud where it belongs…outdoors. Until then, thank you Clorox (for all of the clothes and blankets and rugs you have saved through the years) and Happy Birthday!
