Autumn Time Handmade Thank You Note From Recycled Cardboard

Those who know me, know that I value the written word.  I am totally loving creating things with the raffia and paper ribbons from World Market these days so created this handmade thank you note with two of the colors of raffia and other things I had laying around my studio (plus the cardboard back of my husband’s memo pad that I took out of his office garbage can).

If you want to create this, you will need the following materials and supplies:

  • Cardboard (back of a memo pad works great)
  • Raffia
  • Button (Mine is Bold Brown from my collection with Buttons Galore)
  • Adhesive (I used Aleene’s Max Tacky)
  • Hole Punch
  • Scissors
  • Envelope
  • Sharpie Marker

It is easy peasy!  Cut your cardboard to fit into your envelope.  Mine is 5 x 7.  Then punch two holes 1/2 inch apart.

Thread raffia through the holes and tie a bow.

Add a button with adhesive.  I tied a little piece of raffia through the holes first.

Doodle your thank you words to decorate.  You can add to the envelope too.

Ta Da!  This is the first month I am participating in the Designer Crafts Connection Blog hop! This months theme was to make something handmade with a thankful theme.  Click on the button in my sidebar to hop from designer post to designer post to see lots of other fabulous ideas and projects.

Happy Creating and Finding Lots of Ways to Celebrate Thankfulness,

Laura

I am wracking my brain as to how Laura Kelly did not doodle over the entire card. The restraint must have hurt. I must say however I love the simplicity of the message.
