Best Cardboard Gingerbread House Gift Wrapping Idea

Creating custom gift wrap and holiday decor is so much fun for kids and families. these darling designs are so easy peasy and super fun too. They double up as a perfect way to wrap special presents while creating great Christmas decor too. The Kwik Stix make is great because painting without any mess is always a win! I hope you love this Cardboard Gingerbread House Giftwrap Idea!

Materials and Supplies Needed

  • Kwik Stix Paint Sticks
  • Cardboard or Kraft Paper Boxes and Carriers (Bags Work Too)
  • Cereal Boxes to Cut Up
  • Scissors
  • Tape or Glue Stick
  • Twine
  • Bells to Tie On

Directions

The main paint stick that is getting used in this project is the WHITE! It is the one to act as the icing on the cardboard gingerbread houses. Use it to draw the doors, windows and added details. The paint stick twists from the bottom to add more paint to the top when it gets low.

Add a pop of color if desired. I think it looks best to limit the colors in order to keep the gingerbread house effect. This works best to use the white as a base then add the color around the outside.

TIPS for Success:

  • Work on one at a time.
  • For bags, remove the rope handles to provide a flat work service.
  • Limit color choices for this project. (Normally I would say to provide ALL the colors!)

Extra Pieces for a Cardboard Gingerbread House

Using an old box or the backside from a box of cereal, cut out shapes for things like trees, hearts and tags.

The Kwik Stix are perfect to decorate these cut outs into fabulous works of art. Much like in the steps above, the white is good to do first as a base for things like the added chimney.

Tape them to the decorated houses (or use a glue stick)! Tie on twine bows and bells too!

This project is great for boxes and bags and also BUCKETS!
