Kid Craft Projects with YARN

There are so many Kid Craft Projects with YARN! The possibilities are simply endless. I am excited to share some of my favorites with you and hopefully create some inspiration. Yarn comes in such a variety of colors and textures. The same project can be made using different kinds of yarn and come out totally different. Fiber arts are great for kids. They allow them the space to be creative while working on developing those fine motor skills.

Pom Pom Garland

The pom pom garland is a blast to create. You start with yarn.

To make the pom poms, there are a variety of tools out there. Follow the directions that go to your tool.

Once the pom poms are made and trimmed, string them together with a large plastic needle and a long strand of yarn. Ta Da!

The finished pieces is great to decorate your pets. Ha ha ha. I had to do it.

It is also a a fantastic garland for your book basket.

I think it is adorable on the kitty tower too and I promise you, Mogi LOVES all things yarn.

When you trim your pom poms, save your trimmings!

Scrap Yarn Art

I painted a wooden plaque black with Apple Barrel paint from Plaid Crafts and added a glue heart with Aleene’s Turbo Tacky.

I dumped on the trimmings and let it dry. Add a braided yarn handle and yippee….home decor for the win! Isn’t it fun on the game cabinet.

Yarn Vase

Another fun idea is to create a vase with a recycled jar.

To make this project, start by covering a jar with glue. Next, wrap it up in yarn. Use coordinating colors of yarn to add details and embellish the outside decoration. If desired, make a felt flower to add a bright pop to the vase. Of course, picking wildflowers and filling it with those would be way more fun!
