DIY Zoo Animal Garland Decoration

I love the zoo.  I mean I really love the zoo.  I think zoo themed parties, events and learning activities are the best.  I whipped up a little paper crafted diy zoo animal garland decoration with my handy Xyron Mega Runner in a matter of minutes and you can too.  I am sharing the details on how to make it AND the free printable of the animals too.  This post is sponsored by Xyron, the makers of the Mega Runner but the ideas for the zoo animal garland are my own.

DIY Zoo Animal Garland Decor

To create this project, you will need the following materials and supplies:

  • Xyron Mega Runner
  • FREE Zoo Animal Printable Printed On Watercolor Paper
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Paintbrush and Water
  • Scissors
  • Scrapbook Paper (5 pieces that measure 5 x 6 inches)
  • Cardboard Pieces (5 that measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches)
  • Hole Puncher
  • Twine

Start by coloring your animals in with the watercolor pencils.  You can download the animal printable FREE!

Paint water over the penciled coloring.

Cut the animals out.  Adhere them to the cardboard and the cardboard to the scrapbook paper using a Xyron Mega Runner.

Punch holes in each piece and thread twine through the holes.

Ta Da! Now the completed garland is ready to hang!

Which animal is your favorite?  I love the giraffe!  I cannot even believe that giraffes might be added to the endangered species list!

The Xyron Mega Runner works great on lots of paper crafting projects.  This is another one of my favorites.  It is a Valentine but could be adapted to any holiday!  The animals from the zoo animal garland could be used to make cards too, cards that say, “I am WILD about YOU!”

YAY for Paper Crafting with Xyron’s Mega Runner!

Cheers,

Laura
