This crazy delicious homemade butterbeer recipe is the perfect drink for all of your Harry Potter celebrations and events! Whether you are gathering to watch the movies, make crafts or doing anything else magical, this recipe is sure to be a hiy.

We did it!  We whipped up (literally) some homemade butterbeer!  The girls wanted to try it before we get to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter next weekend at Universal Orlando!

Ingredients

Be sure to have all of the ingredients on hand and ready to go!

  • 2 liters cream soda chilled
  • 1/4 teaspoon caramel extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter extract

For the creamy part on top:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch topping
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Homemade Butterbeer Recipe:

This is how we made it using our favorite cream soda from World Market.  (We got the mugs there too!)

In mixing bowl, beat heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. THen, whip in butterscotch topping & powdered sugar.

Mix the caramel and butter extracts with the cream soda and then pour the mixture into clear cups or mugs.

Top with butterscotch cream topping and enjoy! It was super crazy delicious but REALLLLLY sweet.

Harry_Potter_Felt_Doll

I made this Harry Potter doll out of Kunin Felt and the girls flipped.  Jordan asked for a Luna Lovegood and Zoe asked for Ginny Weasley.  I think they all turned out so adorable.  I stuffed them all with Poly-Fil from Fairfield World.  It is my favorite stuffing because it is soft and super easy to work with.

Butterbeer fun fact:

“Butterbeer at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter could be served either cold with a taste similar to cream soda or frozen as a slush with a butterscotch-like foam on top. One may also purchase it either in a regular plastic cup or in a collectible mug. As of December 2012, over five million glasses of Butterbeer were served at the park, an event that was commemorated by the park giving away free Butterbeers to one thousand guests that day.  Butterbeer was also served at The Making of Harry Potter event.

Because today is Thursday, here is a little throwback picture of you.  It is from my honeymoon.  Ryp and I had a BLAST at Universal and vowed to bring the girls when they were a little older.  I am so happy that this time has come.
