Design your own clay bead bracelets to match all of your favorite outfits.
Making Beads is so easy and fun with polymer clay. Premo is a great clay choice for jewelry and comes in a ton of gorgeous colors. This version is a beautiful DIY Christmas bracelet that would be fitting for everything from a fashionable outfit to an ugly sweater party.
Materials and Supplies
These are the supplies and materials you will need to make clay bead bracelets.
- Sculpey Premo Clay in Desired Colors
- Silicone Mat
- Rolling Tool
- Poking Tool to Make Holes
- Clay Blade
- Oven for Baking
- Twine or Cord for Bracelet
- Scissors
Directions for DIY Christmas Bracelet
Start by taking one fourth (a block) of clay from each 2 ounce package. Gently roll the rolling tool over the clay to flatten it to about 2/3 the original thickness.
Next, use the cutting blade to cut the bars into squares. These could be any size. For this bracelet they measure approximately one to one and half cemtimeters.
Poke holes through each of the squares. Make sure the hole is large enough to get whatever cord you are using to lace them together through.
If you want to mix ball beads, roll small pieces of clay in your hands then poke holes through them just like the squares. Bake them at 275 degrees for 12 minutes.
Cut a piece of cording about 18 inches long. It is better to have it too long and easy to tie at the end so longer is better. Once the beads are cooled completely from the baking process, string them together.
If you want the bracelet to come on and off of your wrist easily, use a stretchy cord.
Tie the cord into a triple knot to finish off the bracelet. Then cut the excess cord with a pair of scissors.
