Qwirkle Game Night Free Printable Qwirkle Score Sheet

We have some favorite family games and Qwirkle is definitely one of them!  We LOVE all of the game by Mindware for the most part. We have been playing this with our kids for A LOT of years, since they were pretty darn little, and it still gets taken out of the game cabinet a bunch.  We like to plan family game time as an evening activity because it forces us to all stay home and spend awesome, valuable time together.  If you want to have a Qwirkle game night, you might love some of these extra fun game night ideas and game night snacks. There is even a free printable Qwirkle Score Sheet for y’all to use!

About the Game Qwirkle

Let’s just talk a little about the fun pieces and how to play.  It is fun.  It is really fun.  It is like dominoes married scrabble and they had a baby and named it Qwirkle.  It requires some thinking and planning but also has a bit of an element of luck.  Qwirkle consists of 108 heavy duty chunky wooden tiles. Players use the tiles to make lines that are either all one color or all one shape. There can not be duplicate tiles in a line. When a line of six tiles is complete, it is a Qwirkle!  You get bonus points for Qwirkles.

It is awesome because it is easy enough for most kindergartners to play but strategic enough for adults to enjoy.  That makes it a fantastic choice for so many age groups to play (and have a blast) together. The Free Qwirkle Score Sheet is fun for coloring too. This is a great way to involve the youngest of kiddos.

Free Score Sheet for Game Night Ideas

Keeping score is how we track progress, winning and losing. If you ever have a kid who totally doesn’t want to play the family games with you, they might be more suited to be the score keeper. This can be a valuable skill in school and amongst friends when taught to do it with love, kindness and fairness.

I created a FREE Qwirkle Score Sheet that you can download and use free.  It is for up to four players.  It even has a place to celebrate the winner.  I am guessing you have a magnet on your fridge for special papers like this one.  We use tally marks in our house for scoring!

Best Game Night Snacks

There are six colors in the set (red, orange, green, blue, purple, yellow) which makes a rainbow! I whipped up a batch of royal icing, split into 6 bowls and made 6 colors.  A little icing on some mini brownie bites and BOOM, you have the perfect Qwirkle sweet snack. I think that snacks are one of the most important parts of game night ideas because food is always a winner around here.

Of course it would be fun to decorate the snacks as part of family game night too! You can make royal icing ahead of time and have everything all ready to go.

Aren’t the brownie bites simply adorable. They are delicious too.

Seven Great Reasons to Make Snacks

For me, making snacks is a great way to express myself. I believe that it is a form of creativity. I am excited to share my TOP seven reasons to whip up treats for you family with you. Know that snack baking doesn’t need to be “from scratch” to count. It always counts even when it is only halfway homemade. This buffalo chicken ranch dip is fun to make from leftover chicken after a large meal.

FUN FACT!  We play Qwirkle at the pool.  The pieces are chunky enough that they don’t blow away so those 15 minute adult swims that come around every hour create enough time to complete a game!

  1. My husband and I LOVE Qwirkle (we also play Triominoes and Sequence). We take it to casual and fast food restaurants and play while we eat. It’s FUN!!! SO many strangers have stopped by to ask what we are playing….I’m sure the company has sold many games because of us. We play the travel version because it’s smaller.
