Whip up a quick batch of peanut butter rice krispie football treats for the next ball game!

These delicious treats are so yummy and could be made into any shape. I love the football shape because it is the perfect size for a snack. I have always been a huge fan of plain cereal bars but can promise that adding peanut butter, chocolate and frosting only makes them better!

One of the best th9ngs about this recipe is that it can be made GLUTEN FREE if you choose the correct cereal. For many of us who eat gluten free, this is a game changer.

Ingredients

The ingredients for this recipe is basically the same as Rice Krispy Treats with the addition of peanut butter, chocolate and white icing.

  • 4 TBSP Butter
  • 6 Cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 6 Cups Rice Cereal
  • 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips

Directions to Make Rice Krispy Football Treats

Start by melting the butter, adding the marshmallows and mixing constantly until all creamy. It works best to melt the butter first because it helps keep the sweet marshmallows from sticking to the pan.

Add cereal and mix thoroughly. Pour mixture onto large sheet of parchment paper (on a large cookie sheet).

Place another piece of parchment paper on top and roll until 1/2 inch thick.

While it is cooling, melt peanut butter and chocolate together and mix. This can be done in a glass bowl using the microwave or in a pan on the stovetop. Pour the melted mixture over the cooled cereal mixture and spread.

Refrigerate until hardened. Use a cookie cutter to cut out footballs.

Add the football lacing with white icing.
