This tacky glue resist watercolor art for Halloween is a fabulous project that allows young artists to create masterpieces using just a couple of materials and supplies. The key to success for this project is in the supplies that you use. The combination of a thick tacky glue and amazing watercolors that paint in vivid colors is what makes it work. I have used a lot lot lot of different watercolor paints! It is my opinion that ooly makes the very watercolors for projects like this. They create bright, vivid and fabulous colors with the first strokes. Once the works are dry, they are darling in frames or tied together to create a garland.
This is what we used to make these watercolor works.
Step One:
Create your outline design with glue. This takes a while to dry. I would allow an overnight to keep it simple.
Step Two:
Use the watercolors to paint the first layer of your piece.
When the first layer is dry (about 10 minutes), add more colors and details.
Step Three:
When your watercolor art is totally dry, it is fun to use a permanent marker to add details like eyes. Ta Da!
Cheers to kids creating holiday artwork for decorations!
