DIY Painted Clipboard with Personalized Paper for Teachers

Making DIY painted clipboards with personalized paper for teachers is such a fun gift idea.  I love it because when I was in the classroom the best gifts were the ones that I could actually use.  Don’t get me wrong, I appreciated every single mug.  However, I could only drink so much coffee and hot tea.  These painted clipboards can be done by the kids or the parents to gift to those teachers that make school special.  This post is sponsored by DecoArt but the ideas and opinions are my own.

Materials Needed:

To get started, paint the clipboard.  I think it works best to cover it in one color first and let that color dry.  I am a fan of black for a background but all of the colors work great.  Be sure to let the base coat dry completely.  Then add your decorative painting.  I added white dots with colored centers.  Be sure to paint the front and the back.  Let it dry completely.

Add a thick coat of DecoPauge to both sides and let dry overnight.  Add ribbons to the metal piece of the clipboard.  I like to tie one piece through the center then tie smaller one in knots to it.

To personalized the printable paper, print it first as is.  Once it is printed, feed it back through your printer to add the name.  This can be done in any program, including Microsoft Word.

Here is a version for Girl Scout leaders too!

Add the paper to your clipboard.  You can print all four designs or choose to print only the ones that match your clipboard colors and design.

It is fun to paint the clipboard in the colors to match your paper choice.

The clipboard is so darling on the front and the back.

Be sure to check back all week.  I will be sharing lots of great ways to show your teachers and the volunteers in your life how much you appreciate them.

Cheers to Making a Difference,

Laura
