Make a DIY Game for Shark Week with Bean Bags.
This shark chum traveling bean bag toss game is perfect for SHARK WEEK, shark parties or everyday game playing fun. I made it with Kunin Felt and my fish die that I designed for Ellison Education and it is so stinkin’ darling. Check it out.
How to Make the Bean Bag Toss Game
I started by cutting out 7 sets of 2 fish dies (in seven different colors).
Then I sewed them together leaving the tails open to stuff.
I made seven bean bag inserts with rice.
I stuffed the fishies and sewed them closed. I added google eyes to one side of each.
Then I made the shark. I used my shark from my licensing art portfolio as my inspiration to draw the outline. I created a mouth with teeth and and eye. I love working with felt because the pieces stay together so well when sewing!
Then I sewed it together (two shark pieces back to back) and left the top portion behind the fin open for storing the bean bag fish.

If you want a few game variations to make it more challenging, you can…
- Attach different points to the different colored fish.
- Create a circle (ocean) around the shark and give points for fish that land in the ocean. This would work with chalk on a driveway.
- Give extra points for fish with google eyes facing up when the fish land.
