Last night I had the honor of attending Art Educator Night at Meininger Art Materials as a Senior Brand Ambassador for Tombow USA. It was a night filled with creative energy, connection and appreciation. Not only did I get to share and spread Tombow love, I had the opportunity to meet so many lovely art teachers who are making a difference for the youth in Denver. I miss being in the classroom sometimes and being surrounded with like-minded creative educators was good for my spirit and my soul.
The history of Meininger Art Materials dates back to 1881. It is fascinating. You can read the history HERE. My favorite fun fact is that they opened their doors the same year that Denver got electric lights. This photo is credit to Meininger Art Materials website. I love it so much!
First of all, let me just tell you this. If you love art supplies and you have not ever been to Meininger Art Materials, get in your car and go. NOW. It is completely amaze balls awesome sauce fabulous. I definitely need to head back soon to do more shopping.
I did grab a few things when I was done filfilling my responsibilities. I am pretty happy to have a new pink Dual Brush Marker (I gave mine away) and this paper. This paper is divine when working with pen and markers.
The art teachers were a lot of fun. There was a planned project but most teachers did their own thing. Check out some of this talent.
That one in Japanese says her name. She is not only an art teacher but also learning to write Japanese to go with her black belt skills. I was so impressed. While exploring the store, I found my favorite colored pencils. Did you know that these pencils are wax based and come in a round barrel with a beautiful enamel coating?
I seriously love how smooth they are when I color and create. There are so many beautiful colors to choose from. I also love the way the Permanent Mono Twin Marker writes ON TOP of them after I color.
The Dual Brush Markers were so fun to share. Showing how they blend and work together was eye opening for some of these educators. I am so thankful for my creative life and this journey I am on. It takes me to the greatest places and engages me with the most awesomest of people. Cheers to teachers, educators and art supplies. A BIG thanks to Meininger Art Materials for caring about this profession so much and creating such a fantastic night of appreciation.
