This post was sponsored by General Mills but all opinions and ideas are my own. I decided to do this post and share these ideas because making choices that are better for our kiddos (and us) is really important. General Mills makes some really delicious and wholesome snacks that are so much better for us than some of the alternatives out there. The fabulous news is that right now they are all on sale. It is the “Better for You Brand Sale” at Sprouts Farmers Market. I am excited to share this recipe for a 4 ingredient french vanilla nut cereal ball because not only is it fun to make but the kids love them to eat!
If you are busy and just want to run into Sprouts and grab snacks that are ready to go, here are some of our faves. We keep a basket full for packing lunches and for after school snacking. A favorite for sure are Annie’s cookies and crackers. Zoe is a complete bunny lover so this was an early on no brainer for us. The snacks are good for her and adorable too.
These chocolate chip cookie bunnies from Annie’s are cute enough to serve at a party or to decorate the top of a cookie or cupcake!
The cheese cracker bunnies are perfect after school for homework time!
Our older boys are in school and working in North Carolina so I send a weekly care package. Lara Bars are always a sure thing. I love that I can send them snacks that are better for them than what I think they might choose at the grocery store checkout! I know they love them because they tend to request certain flavors. I know they are busy and on the go so being able to do this makes my heart happy. Dawson is also a fan of Annie’s Cheese Crackers! This is a typical box…a new pair of jeans, snacks, homemade goodies and school supplies.
Personally, my own favorite Lara Bar is the Blueberry Muffin! I have Hashimoto disease so am gluten free and this is like a candy bar to me.
Oh yeah, about that recipe for the cereal balls. You will need a few things but most importantly the Cascadian Farm Organic French Vanilla Almond Granola.
For the record, they are yummy enough to give as a gift!
Here it is!
- 1/2 C Corn Syrup
- 1/4 C Sugar
- 1 C Peanut Butter
- 2 C French Almond Granola
- Over low heat, mix syrup and sugar until completely disolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter.
- Add granola and mix completely then form balls and place on wax paper.
- Chill for 20 minutes then ta-da! They are ready to eat.
So, what are you waiting for now? Hop in your car and head out to get these delicious treats!
Cheers to making choices that Better For You,
