Creating handmade goodies is always a good idea, especially at Valentine’s Day! Using foil to add a sparkling shiny takes paper crafting to the next level. Did you know that Therm-O-Web has the very best line(s) of not only foil colors but also the transfer papers. I love working with paper to make things, especially when it is for a holiday or celebration. I can’t wait to show you how easy it was to create these darling easy foil paper craft Valentine treat tags using some of the foils, transfer papers (and even clear stamps) that I designed for Therm-O-Web. How to Make Easy Foil Paper Craft Valentine Treat Tags
Step One
For the Valentine treat tags, Foil two different transfer papers using Flamingo Pink foil on one and Wagon red on the other. To do this put the shiny side up on the transfer paper then insert them like a sandwich into parchment paper. Feed through a heated laminator. This is the laminator that I love the best.
If you are new to this process, For the directions on how to foil using a heat laminator, watch this awesome video from Therm-O-Web.
Step Two
Cut hearts out of the foiled paper in different sizes. You can do this with scissors or through a die-cutting process (whatever works for you).
Once the hearts are cut out, color them with water based markers. This can be done with coordinating colors or different ones. The cool thing is that the glitterly sparkle of the foil will shine right through. Leave some uncolored for a later step. This paper craft Valentine project is so versatile and fun.
Step Three
Using the cupcake stamp from the Kindness on Purpose clear stamp set, add three to kraft card stock. Color the sprinkles and heart with the markers. Then comes the fun part. Add a few dots of Deco-Foil Liquid Adhesive then let them dry until clear.
Once the dots are clear, press the Magic Wand Silver foil over the dots and rub gently. Peel it off and it will look like sparkly sprinkles were poured on the cup cakes. Cut the cupcakes out with scissors.
Cut three small hearts from the kraft card stock to use in the next step.
Step Four
Now that all of your parts and pieces are designed, it is time for assembly. Assemble the tags for the treat boxes.
Attach the small kraft hearts to the foiled larger ones that have not been colored. Then, attach the layered piece to the outside of your treat box. It is now ready to fill with goodies. I added a CUPID SNACK MIX!
Next, using the Therm-O-Web iCraft tape runner, attach the cupcakes to the colored hearts. Use the hole puncher to add a hole to the heart.
Put the snack boxes down in a larger bag and tie them closed with twine then attach the tags. They are super cute and festive (and totally yummy too).
