It makes my heart so happy that Oreo has a gluten free version so I can finally eat these amazing Christmas cookies. Christmas Oreo Cookies Recipe are so festive and easy to create. The trick to these coming out perfectly is all in the royal icing recipe that I shared on the blog a while back. I will share it again here for you too!

Ingredients

  • Oreo Cookies
  • Royal Icing
  • Food Coloring (Green, Red)
  • Toothpick

Directions

Before starting, not that patience is KEY when working with royal icing. It is a practiced skill to make cookies come out perfectly so be happy with your first round no matter how they look when you are done. They will taste delicious no matter what AND you will get better with practice.

Step One

Flood the top of an Oreo cookie with white royal icing. Leave a little border of cookie around the outside because the icing is apt to spread a little. The icing needs to be wet for the next step so only do two at a time at most. This Christmas Oreo Cookies recipe is a good one to make for the holidays every year.

Step Two

While the white icing is still wet, add green icing lines around the outside of the cookies. It is totally okay if these are not all exactly the same size and width. The key to the success of this Recipe making pretty wreaths is in the timing of the green on the white.

Step Three

Gently drag a toothpick around the cookie a couple of times to make the wreath. Let the icing set before moving to the next step.

Step Four

Add little red dots for berries. These could be big or small.

  1. Your cookies look so pretty. And, I love that there’s no baking involved. Plus, it’ll make it easier to make gluten free options. And, unlike some gf options, gluten free oreos are delicious.

  2. I love using Oreos as a base for holiday cookies and these are GORGEOUS! Featuring when my link party opens.
