Create a Hand Lettered Christmas Tree

Six day to go…and then it is CHRISTMAS!  Here is a fabulous last minute gift that you can create for your family or friends.  This hand lettered family Christmas tree can be done with print, cursive or even digitally then colored with whatever you love most.  I love this because it is a creation that expresses the love we have in our blended family!  Here are the directions to create a hand lettered Christmas tree.

Create an outline to work in.  If you want mine, you can download it here FREE.  I worked on a light table to add my names but you could tape it to a window too.  Be sure to use a permanent marker for this part so your coloring won’t smear the black.  Put your names with the fewest letters at the top and work your way down to the ones with the most.  After you have them all in, add your star, trunk and ornaments.

I used watercolor to add color to mine.  I love the way that it came out.

I did another version in the way that I could see it being created by a kid.  I colored this one with crayons.  I think this would make a fantastic gift for teachers to create with students to take home to their families.
