Building this leprechaun trap with gumballs and gold card stock was really fun. I used a pitcher jar that I got at World Market because, well because it is a fun thing and deserves to be used. I am not really sure if this trap will actually work but the idea is that the leprechaun will either be intrigued by the gold or the gumballs. He will be soooooo overwhelmed with NEED that he will climb the knotted rope and ….. drum roll…. fall in. We are going to give it a try tonight. The part that you don’t see is the netting that drops over the top of the jar when he touches the the gold in the jar. It is a magic netting that is why you cannot see it!
I made the gold coins with card stock and my Badges die that I designed for Ellison/Sizzix. I adhered two pieces back to back BEFORE running the paper through the machine.
Ta Da! I also used my Ellison Lemonade Alphabet die to make the letters for the sign. I love this little alphabet so much and had such a great time designing it.
I love it! I felt like a leprechaun would best lured by a rainbow so I made this one from my stash of Kunin felt.
If you love rainbows, you might like making this. Click HERE to see how I did it. I love felt because it never fades.
Okay, so fingers are crossed that we catch one tonight. If you are leprechaun lover, here is a coloring sheet you can download and print for FREE!
Here is another fun printable for your older kiddos! Grab it HERE.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Love,
