With so many supplies used for homework and school, it is great to create a way to keep them organized. I whipped up some metallic painted storage for school supplies using an amazing metallic paint from DecoArt, Extreme Sheen Acrylic. It is awesome because like many of their paints, it works on many surfaces. I used it on metal and glass and the results are amazing. This post is sponsored by DecoArt but the ideas and opinions are my own.
I will share the metal container make-over first. I had this weird and very dark green metal container. I think it was from a Christmas display a while back. I first painted a white coat acrylic (Multi-Surface) and let it dry.
Then I added a coat of Extreme Sheen Sky Blue
I let it dry and WOW! I love it so much.
For the three jars, I used Chalky Finish as a base because I want them to match another project. The storage for school supplies needs to go on some sort of desk, right?
Two of the jars got a base pink coat (Reminisce).
One of the jars got a mix of pink and white (Reminisce and Everlasting)
Once they dried, the solid pink got a coat of Extreme Sheen Pink Tourmaline and the mixed pink got a coat of Extreme Sheen Sterling Silver. They turned out stunning.
Stay tuned. Within the next few days I will be sharing another awesome DecoArt project that features the entire homework study station where these could be used. If you just cannot wait for another project, check out these awesome Back to School winners also created with DecoArt.
YAY for Back to School.
Cheers,
Laura
