These donut snowman sticks are so cute and easy to make with homemade donuts or store bought.
Donuts are for more than breakfast during the holidays (and every day really)! They are the perfect treat to add sugar to because they alone aren’t too super sweet. So, when all of the candy and icing gets added to the stack of donuts, the final outcome isn’t too over the top for most dessert lovers.
Ingredients (and Supplies)
- Mini Donuts
- Candy Eyes
- Icing or Frosting
- Colored Candies or Chocolates
- Licorice
- Pretzels
- Wooden Skewers
- Mini Reece’s for Hats
- Cookies with Holes in the Middle (optional)
Directions for Donut Snowman
These can be a little tricky if you don’t have good icing or frosting. It is best if it is thick but wet in order to get the candies to best stick to the donuts. If using store bought frosting in a little canister, add a tiny bit of milk to get it a tad creamier. Put it in a baggie and cut the corner for getting frosting out in small doses.
Step One
Stack three donuts onto a skewer, leaving a little room in between the bottom two and the top one for the scarf. Leave enough room at the top of the skewer to add the candy hat too. To get the donuts on without cracking, hold them on both sides when sliding onto the skewer using the pointed end.
Step Two
Create a scarf from licorice. The pull apart kind works the best. There are other kinds of candies that you might like to try too. I am thinking that sour rainbow strips would work.
Step Three
Next, Add a little frosting for each of the candy buttons, nose and eyes.
Stick candies on the frosting and let it set before trying to do the next step so that they won’t fall off of your donut snowman.
Step Four
Add a cookie with a hole in the middle then a mini Reece’s cup to create the hat.
