Seasons of Love Subway Art

The song Seasons of Love is such a reminder that life is NOW.  The whole show is really a great big giant reminder that life is NOW.  I created this Seasons of Love subway art for my studio and no sooner than I hung it up, my 23 year old son asked if he could have it.  It was inspired by my recent visit to DPAC to see Rent.

Let’s talk about RENT, the Musical!

Rent is such a fantastic musical with so many fabulous songs and messages.  I first saw it when it opened on Broadway with my mom.  This was the beginning of my complete love for Idina Menzel.  Since then I have seen it close to a dozen times on stage and too many to count if you include the movie.  I had the honor of being a media guest at the opening night of the show at the DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) and IT WAS PHENOMENAL.  The casting was tremendous.  I only wish there was a soundtrack of THAT performance.  Here are few pictures from the night.

This is how I made it the Seasons of Love Subway Art!

First I designed it in Cricut Design Space.  Then I cut the vinyl.  Next I applied the vinyl to a framed white piece from Mix the Media by Hamton Art.

And now it is time to put the tickets into my scrapbook.

A great big shout out of thanks to DPAC for hosting media at their performances so we can share the awesomeness with you guys!

Cheers to LIVING IN THE NOW!
