Witch Paint Chip Halloween Craft and Printable
There are so many great witch characters in literature and theater. I have so many favorites but at the top of the list is Elpheba from Wicked. The next two would be Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series and the witch in the kid’s picture book Room on the Broom. Two out of three of these witches have cats so there is that interesting fact. I am excited to share this three little witches paint chip Halloween craft and a free printable too. Let’s do it. I mostly love the cheeks on this witch craft because they are made from shiny foil!
Materials and Supplies for Paint Chip Witch Craft for Halloween
- Paint Chips (Green, Purple, Black)
- Black Paint Marker (Permanent Marker Works Too)
- Zots from Therm-O-Web
- Therm-O-Web Flamingo Pink Foil
- Google Eyes
- Scissors
Instructions to Make Paint Chip Witch Craft for Halloween
Start by cutting the purple paint chip down the middle and then cutting both pieces halfway up from the bottom. Curl the 4 strips around the paint marker.
Next, adhere the purple strips to the top of the green paint chip with Zots from Therm-O-Web. Cut a hat from the black paint chip.
Add the hat and two google eyes with more Zots.
Use the paint marker to add a mouth to the face of your witch. Cut a nose from a darker green paint chip and add it with a Zot. Place a Zot on each end of the mouth.
The last step is to add shiny cheeks with my Flamingo Pink foil from Therm-O-Web. The foil will adhere to the Zots like magic. Press your finger over the foil (shiny side up) until the whole surface is covered.
Add your witch as a decorative tag to a Halloween or party treat. I think she is so cute in this container filled with seasonal craft supplies.

Seven Reasons Kids Should Be Crafting
Practice Fine Motor Skills – Many craft projects require the use of fine motor skills to cut, tie knots, paint, color and even apply glue. Crafting provides a great opportunity to work on fine motor skills while creating works of art.
Build Self Esteem – Through the process of creating a craft project, a child works through a series of steps to make a masterpiece. The success of completing steps and having something wonderful to show for it has proven to build self esteem.
Create Community – Many craft projects that are done by kids in classrooms or groups collectively create a larger work of art. For example. When a group of kids create individual pumpkin crafts – once put together they have a patch. This creates community and inclusion.
Build Social Skills – While actively crafting, often times the fears and worries of talking with others subsides and children (of all ages) find themselves to be more social with those around them,
Promotes Individuality – Craft projects should allow children the opportunity to put their own style or mark into their work. There need to be choices available to successfully promote individuality. Some of these choices include picking colors, crayons vs colored pencils, cutting vs tearing paper and outlining.
Encourages Self Expression – Often times children will express their feelings and thoughts through simple drawing and works of art. Encouraging kids to draw in their journals and add their own elements to projects sometimes offers a release of feelings.
