Unicorn Flower Pillow

Spring is a great time to create home decor that is bright, cheery and full of flowers.  Our girls are in a unicorn craze right now which is totally magical.  This unicorn flower pillow came out so great because I used a new tool from Nancy’s Notions on the corners.  I cannot wait to share it with you and show you how you can make a unicorn flower pillow for your home.  This post is sponsored by Nancy’s Notions but the ideas and opinions are my own.

These are the supplies you will need to make the unicorn flower pillow.

The first steps are to use the template to trim your corners then sew your muzzle to the top white piece of your pillow and trim it with the template.

Next, cut out two ears (if you want them thicker, double the felt and sew the pieces together first) and make a horn from a metalic fabric like Aluminor.  Place them downwards on the face of your pillow front, add the back and pin it together.  Sew around the top three sides of the pillow then flip it right-side out.

Insert a 12 x 12 pillow form then hand stitch it closed across the bottom.  Add two round black felt circles for eyes with hot glue.  To make the mane, sew felt strips to scrap pieces of fabric.

Trim the extra fabric and hot glue one to the bottom of the horn on the front and one on the back.  Add felt flowers to cover the fabric.  You can either buy pre-made felt flowers or make them yourself.

Isn’t she gorgeous on the bed.

And look.  Just look at that corner.  I am in love with this new template and will be making more pillows over the weekend.

Unicorns are so much fun because they create such elaborate imagination and dreams.  Here is a little word search puzzle that you can do while you sit on your bed with your new pillow.

Cheers to Spring, Sewing, Flowers and Unicorns,

Laura
