As a primary teacher, I didn’t really want my students messing with the push pins on the bulletin board. I had a fear of them ending up on the floor and being stepped on. This hack solves the problem of push pins having to come out of the bulletin board while allowing students to interact safely. I used AdTech’s new Cool Tool for this and love it. This post is sponsored by AdTech but the ideas and opinions are my own.
To make these darling push pins that don’t need to come off of the bulletin board, you will need the following materials:
- Ad Tech Cool Tool and Glue Sticks
- Push Pins with Giant Heads (the bigger the better!)
- Clothes Pins
- Little Things to Attach to Clothes Pins (Painted Wood, Buttons, Dice, Etc.)
If you are painting decorations, do this first and make sure everything is completely dry before assembling with the Cool Tool.
The Cool Tool is fabulous. You can grab it on Amazon Prime with my affiliate link!
Using your Cool Tool, assemble your push pins by adding the pin to the back and the decoration to the front.
They make the most darling pins. This example shows a bulletin board for a teacher to use to keep track of his or her own important things (like a new Starbucks card).
Here is another close up of a pin. Using dice, a teacher could make a math game with these pins.
Often times students are broken up into groups (or tables) by color. This example shows a great way to display your group leader or table captain for the day.
Again, the pushpins are made the same way.
Of course, you can also just make darling push pins. I used buttons on these.
The Cool Tool is awesome because it seriously lowers my chances of getting burned by the glue gun! I am so excited to use it with my Girl Scout troop.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for another fantastic classroom DIY idea.
Cheers,
Laura
