Darling Thanksgiving Paper Craft Garland
This Darling Thanksgiving Paper Craft Garland is a great way to kick of the season of gratitude and joy. It is fairly simple to create and a great project for beginning paper crafters (and kids)! Before I share the how tos for making the garland,
I want to give you a great big set of FREE Thanksgiving printables and activities.
AND HERE is another great set for Friendsgiving!
Making the Thanksgiving Paper Craft Garland
I think it is super important to use high quality papers and card stocks as well as long lasting and amazing adhesives on all projects. A lot of times kids get stuck using paper that fades and glue sticks that dry out. Then their projects and masterpieces fade and fall apart. I think that stinks. That is why I am going to recommend that if you are crafting for yourself or with kiddos that you invest in a Xyron Mega Runner. It is so easy to use, refillable AND it works. It works great right from the start and the adhesive lasts and lasts. Decorations that I got out of my garage from LAST fall are still intact a year later and that makes me so happy. This post is sponsored by Xyron but the ideas are my own.
Okay, so you will need a few materials and supplies for this project. Here is your list.
- 3 Shades of Brown Card Stock
- Decorative Fall Paper for Accents
- Xyron Mega Runner
- Scissors
- Twine
- Mini Clothespins
- Googly Eyes
- Black Permanent Marker
- Sizzix Big Shot Machine and Dies (Bookmark Die, Meats Die by Laura Kelly for the Drummy, Heart)
Cut your drummies out either using the die from the two darker shades of brown card stock. Cut the pieces for the garland using the bookmark die. Adhere the drummies to the pieces using your Xyron Mega Runner.
Cut out accent pieces for a decorative piece of fall patterned paper and add details to your drummies.
Use a black permanent marker to outline and feature the parts of your pieces that you want noticed. I added mouths to give the drummies a little personality. I also added a couple of words to end pieces.
Use mini clothespins to hang your pieces on a piece of twine. Ta Da! It is so super darling.
