It is the perfect time in the season (no matter what day of the year it is really) to create a DIY wood slice Christmas decoration.  The awesome thing about this project is that you can use the steps to create a decoration for any holiday, occasion or celebration.  I love using the awesome variety of paints and products from DecoArt to create decorations because they work so great.  The paints and glitter products come in so many fabulous colors.  The brushes and stencils work with ease.  This post is sponsored by DecoArt but the ideas and opinions are my own!

Start by painting the wood slice, leaving the edges raw.  Let dry.  I love the color Romance!

Add a saying or design with the stencil and another color of Chalky Finish paint.

When it is totally dry, add a later of Craft Twinkles.

Braid twine to make a hanger and tie the ends in knots.  Use a staple gun to attach it to the top of the wood slice, adding folliage for a special touvh.
