How to Make Pom-Pom Christmas Tree Picks!
‘Tis the season to make pom-poms for everything to decorate, wrap packages and celebrate! These pom-pom Christmas tree picks are the perfect way to spruce up a Christmas tree and give it extra dimension and personality. The best thing about this project is that with the Red Heart Pom-Pom and Tassel maker, you can make FIVE pom-poms at a time. That makes the process go quickly and effortless. This post is sponsored by Coats and Clark but the ideas and the opinions (and the mad love for pom-poms) is my own.
This is what you will need to make the pom-pom Christmas tree picks:
- Red Heart Pom-Pom and Tassel Maker
- Red Heart Yarn
- Scissors
- Floral Wire
Time for Directions!
The first step is to make the pom-poms. The amazing Red Heart Pom and Tassel maker creates a super efficient way to make lots of pom-poms in not a lot of time.
There are tons of yarns out there but I find that the Red Heart Value yarn is the best for mass production pom-pom making.
Once the pom-poms are made (three per pick), it is time to assemble. Start by sticking a floral wire through one of the centers of a pom-pom then bending the end to create a hook.
Pull the hook through the pom pom and twist to secure it. On another floral wire, add pom-poms to BOTH ends using this same method. Then, twist that wire around the wire with only one pom-pom.
Bend to create a pick that has three pom-poms sticking out in different directions.
Stick the wire into the depth of the tree and bend the wires to create the look desired with the pom-poms.
If you love pom-poms as much as me, you are going to LOVE this project too! Make a bunch of white pom-poms and turn them into an indoor snowball fight. Design a jar or bucket container and label it with vinyl cut out on a Cricut Machine!
Yay! Cheers to Pom-Poms everywhere decorating all the things for the holidays!

Laura
