Create a darling felt gingerbread garland in a few simple steps.

I love working with felt because it is easy to cut and doesn’t fray. It is sturdy and holds shape when added to a garland of this nature. While pinks are the accent colors here, note that any colors could be used to fit the theme of your holiday decorations.

Step By Step Directions for Felt Gingerbread Man Garland
This garland could be as long as you wish by simply adding as many gingerbread men as desired. The pattern could also be enlarged to make larger versions.
Step One
Use the pattern to cut out your gingerbread men from felt. This color is Copper Canyon and my favorite of the brown to act as gingerbread.

Step Two
With white puffy paint, add the icing accents to your gingerbread men. After this step, let the paint dry for several hours until taking any next steps directly on these pieces.

How to Make Puffy Paint Dry Quicker?
Since this kind of paint needs quite a bit of time for complete drying, note that there are some shortcuts. Here are three ways to speed up the process.
- Use a blow dryer
- Dry it under the sun
- Make use of a fan
Step Three
Using pink ribbon, create a bow to go in between each of your men. If you want bows on the ends of your garland too, create two extras. These can all be the same or different, depending on the look you are going for. I prefer simplicity so did them all the same.

Step Four
Once the puffy paint is completely dry, add any other embellishments you might want on your men using hot glue. Keeping this simple, I added some ribbon. Some other options are buttons, lace, google eyes or sequins.

Step Five
To create the garland, space your pieces (men and bows) out on a table. Hot glue them to a piece of twine, yarn or ribbon – making sure that the glue is attached at the TOP of the head and and the TOPS of the two sides of the bows. This will keep the pieces from flipping on the garland.

The garland is perfect to add to a tree or hang from a mantle!
