Halloween is my favorite holiday. It would be okay with me if Halloween came along each month. The whole idea of Halloween gets me so inspired to create, make and celebrate!
I got an amazing box of awesomeness from Oriental Trading on my porch on Saturday. I was on my way OUT to run errands and turned around and brought the box IN. I simply had to open it and check it all out. It was all I could do to put these fun things back in the box and keep my integrity to go the places I was committed to going that day.
This is what I came up with first. These adorable little buckets are part of the fourth little piece. I painted black polka dots on them and then filled them with candy corn. To make the black cat straw decoration, I used another one of my dies (Badges Die #2) from Ellison.
Second on the list of creations from the Oriental Trading goodies was this. It would be a fantastic goody for a party or even a teacher treat on Halloween in those places where candy isn’t an option. I LOVE that you can personalize your messages on the pencils. These are for my Girl Scouts!
The pencils are tied together and then mounted to the pumpkin with a two sided sticky adhesive tab. The pumpkin is tacked into a cork square with pushpins. Cute, right? Oh and that hand stamped tag…yep! I made it with a stamp I designed for Expressionery.Com which you can order HERE. But the pencils. I LOVE what I personalized them to say.
The third creation is the napkin ensemble for the place settings on the table. I used my “Laura Kelly” pumpkin die to cut out the orange napkins then hole punched through both and tied them together with a black cat lollipop. Darling! I love the way they look on the larger paper plate. These colors are the best!
To make these die cut pumpkin napkins, the trick is in the placement on the die before running it through the machine. Here is a visual. You need to keep the folds in place.
The fourth creation using the box of fun is this garland. I wanted it to match the place setting for the table so I cut the plates down to fit in my Ellison Superstar machine and used the pumpkin die that I created to cut the pieces out. I hole punched then tied the pumpkins all together. Ta Da!
It is so fabulous the way the trimmed down paper plates run right through the machine!
When you put it all together…..Ta Da!!!
