Last weekend we took Zoe and a her friend to Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs to celebrate her twelfth birthday! Oh my, gosh, we had a howling great time. It has been several (like 10) years since I took our older two boys to the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg and I remember it being awesome but WOW, I had forgotten so much of the super fun experiences. The girls were unstoppable running from activity to game to dining. I am excited to share some of our photos with you because really, they tell the story much better than words. This post is sponsored but the thoughts and opinions are my own.
The indoor water park is the best ever. There are tons of blog posts about the water park so I will leave it at this…you will LOVE it. You will get wet. You will laugh and have a ball.
If you are heading to Great Wolf Lodge, I suggest that you invest in the Wolf Passes. The pass allows access to so many of the attractions without having to wait in lines to pay as you go. They come with a lanyard so get worn around the neck. The include TONS of things. These are the top three according to two twelve year old girls.
- MagiQuest Game AND Wand
- Kid Character at the Creation Station
- Gemstone Mining at Oliver’s Mining Co.
MagiQuest in an interactive game that encourages problem solving and imagination. After choosing wands (and toppers to decorate them of course(, the girls spent HOURS getting through their quest (along with my husband!). They started with getting directions from a very fun and “in character” staff member.
After hours of work, they were knighted.
They ever got certificates to display their title of Master Magi.
The Kid Character Creation Station is super fabulous. Zoe chose the wolf and had a great time getting it stuffed and chipped for her. There are interactive activities with these animals but we didn’t have time. There is just so much to do.
She named her Wolf Wolfy and he fits right in at our home with our other bazillion stuffed animals.
Gemstone mining is so fun, especially at Great Wolf Lodge because the kids really get to find and discover a TON TON of gems.
We brought the gems home and cleaned them up. Gorgeous!
I am a fan of interior design and was fascinated with the many textures and surfaces used to bring Great Wolf Lodge to life.
I am also a fan of candy so was pretty excited about the candy store.
I filled by serving of bulk candy (thanks to that Wolf Pass) with Runts.
The girls had their nails done in the Scoops Spa.
They crushed hard on the fizzing flavor bombs in the nail water. Of course, that was followed with ice cream on the way out.
They had a BLAST! We are going back (in two weeks) because we want to do it all! It is such a perfect place to create family and friendship memories that will last forever and ever. It is magical in that grown ups get to be kids again.
Grab this free printable to do in the car on the way!
Have a howling good time!

Looks like a blast, Laura!! How were the rooms, and what kind of restaurant did they have?
The rooms were fabulous! The kids had their own den and we had a comfy bed. The restaurant(s) are diverse so there is something for everyone. I highly recommend.
