I Am Statements

February is Kindness Month but I think that everyday is a good day to create it.  Kiddos that are kind are usually ones with a sense of being important in their world as they know it.  A great first step in creating a kinder world filled with kinder people is having kids know that their voices matter.  I AM Statements are a great tool!  This magnetic craft project is a great little one that will have a long lasting impact for the kids who get to make it.  Creating magnets is so easy and fun with the Creative Station.  I love it because it also laminates AND makes stickers.  This post is sponsored by Xyron, the makers of the Creative Station, but the ideas are my own.

Magnetic I AM Statements

To create the I AM Statements  tool, you will need the following supplies and materials.

Start by doodling a little person that looks like you AND words that you think would be empowering for days that need a boost of confidence.   I AM Statements use words that support and encourage healthy outcomes.

Here are some ideas of words for your I AM Statements.

  • Happy
  • Joyful
  • Smart
  • Knowledgeable
  • Kind
  • Helpful
  • Creative
  • Friendly
  • Strong
  • Courageous
  • Safe
  • Beautiful
  • Authentic

Add some borders and a little splash of color to each word.

Cut the words out for your I AM Statements.

Run the words through the Creative Station with a magnetic cartridge in it!  This is the coolest and most fun part of this projects because it is like a little magic.

And then cut them out again!  Now they are magnetic!

This is MY board with words I might be needing over the next few days and weeks.

These work great on magnetic refrigerators too!

Use the tool in the mornings, after school or at night to add words and talk about them with your kids.  You can always add new words as needed.  That is the beauty of this project.  It can be used forever because gosh, we are all works in progress that can use reminders of our awesomeness.

Cheers to Building Confidence that Spreads in Kindness,

Laura
