Interchangeable Back to School Chore Chart

It is day five of my Creative Back to School series and I am totally loving sharing all of these ideas with you.  This one, an interchangeable back to school chore chart, is great because it can be adapted to meet the needs of every kiddo.  I whipped it up in about an hour but think it could be done faster, especially if you are making multiples.  This post is sponsored by Fairfield World but the opinions and ideas are my own.  I used Oly*Fun to create this masterpiece.  It is so easy to work with!

I started by cutting out the name for the kiddo first using my uppercase Lemonade alphabet from Ellison Education that I designed with projects like this in mind.  I stitched it to the top of a piece of pink Oly-Fun leaving an inch and a half above it.  Once it was on, I folded the top part under and stitched across the entire piece to create a pocket so a rod could hold the chart when it was completed.

I cut out six 3 1/2 inch square pockets in multiple colors of Oly-Fun (then attached them on the sewing machine).

Next I attached adhesive square label pockets to hold the chore cards.

Using my Me and My Peeps GIRL die from Ellison Education, I designed enough die-cut girls and clothing to make six stick dolls to go in the pockets (once the chores are completed).

The last thing I did was add a fringe bottom to the chart to make it cuter.  To do this, I sewed a piece of Oly-Fun the width of the chart, attaching it only on the two sides.  Then I tied strips into knots in the sewn piece.

Ta Da!

The great thing is that you can make chores to fit your kiddo’s needs.  This FREE printable has my six morning chores on the first page and then a page with nine blanks so you can get super creative.

Be sure to check back in two weeks to find out teachers (and home school educators) can use Fairfield World projects in the classroom!

Cheers to CREATIVE Back to School Ideas,

Laura
