Alice in Wonderland Party Strawberry Mushroom Cookies
Every themed celebration deserves amazing desserts and snacks. These delicious brownies with magical mushrooms made from strawberries surrounded by candy rocks on a thick chocolate brownie are perfect for Wonderland. These are great because they can be made gluten and dairy free if necessary for kiddos with special dietary needs. The magic and quirk is strong in these Alice in Wonderland Party Strawberry Mushroom cookies.
Ingredients
- Brownies cut into squares or rectangles (I used a gluten free brownie mix and it worked GREAT!)
- Strawberries
- Mini Marshmallows
- White Icing (Royal icing hardens so works best. You can get the EASY MIX.)
- Toothpicks
- Candy Rocks (I found these perfect ones on Amazon.)
- Green Sprinkles
- Chocolate Melting Candy Pieces
Directions
These directions start once the brownies are cut in to squares or rectangles. You can use whatever brownie mix you like. This would also work on thick (chewy) cookies or cupcakes.
Step One
Start by making the mushrooms for the Alice in Wonderland Party. Cut the tops off of the strawberries creating a flat surface for the bottom of the mushrooms.
Step Two
Add frosting dots to the strawberries and set aside to harden.
Step Three
Drizzle melted chocolate candy on the tops of the brownies (or cookies). Frosting could be used for this step too. Add a few green sprinkles and candy rocks.
Step Four
Build the strawberry mushrooms with toothpicks that connect them to mini marshmallows as a stem.
Step Five
Insert the mushrooms into the cookies, cupcakes or brownies to complete the snacks. I think these are the most darling strawberry mushroom cookies ever.
