Awesome Sensory Projects with Baby Oil

I have been compensated by Johnson’s® Baby for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.

The holiday season is coming up quick which means kiddos will be home on breaks and ready to make all kinds of fun things.  I whipped up a few fun projects and crafts that you can create with Johnson’s® Baby Oil.  I love all three of them for different reasons and am excited to share them as well as my opinions.  I love the smell of the baby oil.  It brings back fabulous memories from my past and makes the creating of these projects just that much more awesome.

You can grab the Johnson’s® Baby Oil at your local Walmart, right in the aisle with the baby stuff!

The world is a crazy place and lots of kids benefit from calming activities and projects.  This one is great for kids who like things that are relaxing and intriguing at the same time.  To create these darling sensory jars you will need a few things, including Johnson and Johnson Baby Oil.  This is what you will want to have ready when you get started.

  • Johnson’s® Baby Oil
  • Jar with Tight Lid
  • Water
  • Food Coloring
  • Glitter

Fill the jar up 7/8 of the way with water.  Add a few drops of food coloring, 2 TBSP of baby oil and a dash of glitter.  Put the lid on tightly (maybe even glue it closed) and turn the jar up and down to watch the magic.

Slime recipes have taken over our home.  Our youngest daughter has made oodles of it and tested tons of versions.  This one is our slimiest favorite.  To make it you will need:

  • White Glue
  • Foaming Shaving Cream
  • Saline Solution
  • Baking Soda
  • Johnson’s® Baby Oil
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Pour 1/2 C glue into a medium sized bowl.
  2. Squeeze a few drops of food coloring in and stir to mix it up.
  3. Add 3 C of shaving cream and stir.
  4. Add 1 TBSP of saline solution and mix it completely using your hands.
  5. Add the baby oil to make it slimy and less sticky.

The more baby oil you add, the slimier it will be!  I recommend starting with a tablespoon but adding as much as you want, a little at a time.

This dough is amazing and super fun for a rainy (or snowy around here) day.  It is awesome because you only need two ingredients – Johnson’s® Baby Oil and white flour.  Mix the parts with the ratio of 1:7 (one part baby oil to 7 parts flour).  While kneading and playing with the dough (and cutters, scoops, kids will be having a great time and relieving stress.

This offers their brain the opportunity to take a break and create new ideas and possibilities.

So, what are you waiting for?  Go out and get these easy peasy ingredients and start making cool stuff.  Your kids can even make these things to give as awesome holiday gifts for their teachers and friends (and even siblings).

There are lots of great ways to use Johnson’s® baby products in creative hacks and ways.  Check them all out on their Pinterest board!

Cheers to Creating and Making with Baby Oil!®
Laura
