We just got back from a family adventure to Universal Orlando.  I have so so so much to share!  The most important detail of our trip is this…once we got from the Orlando Airport to our hotel (Cabana Bay) on Universal property….we never left until it was time to come home!  There is so much to do and see and experience…all right there…on property.   I am dedicating this post to our family experience of seeing Blue Man Group #UniversalOrlando because, well because it was amaze balls awesome sauce fabulous.  Yes, I just used all of those words together.

Universal provided our family the tickets and I am so thankful.  After a long day in the parks, I wasn’t so sure we would make it through a performance.  Boy…was I every mistaken.  The theater is RIGHT BESIDE the park exit so getting there was a breeze.   The lights and the signs leading up to theater were like batteries to our energy souls.

Once inside, we grabbed some popcorn and got seated.

We started laughing immediately…at the messages scrolling on the marquees and at the people wearing ponchos in the front rows.  Of course when I read the words on the screen, I stopped and went into deep thought.  The message resignated somewhere deep inside me.  It is what I believe.  It is how I live.  This is what I saw.  “If you would like to establish a connection with people from another culture is it always good to offer a few gifts as a gesture of friendship. The show was hysterical.  I am quite sure that I have NEVER heard my husband and both girls laughing so loud at the same time before…ever.  The talent was phenomenal and the creativity behind the performance…stellar!  I say this as theater and art enthusiast.  I have seen over 30 Broadway performances and go to everything that comes to town.  When we came out of the performance, the girls were ecstatic to get their pictures taken with the talent!  Zoe (our actress and theater girl) loved the Blue Men but our first chair clarinet was dazed by the band!

Once we arrived home, I was questioned by my kiddos as to why they were not selling Blue Man dolls.  Easy fix.  I made one.  I think creating connections for the kids to remember and discuss performances matters!  Of course we bought the program to add to our collection.  It looks great with Wicked…Blue Men and a Green Girl!  I have now been tasked to make two more and their accessories (gumball machine, marshmallows, spin-art canvas and cereal box specifically).  If you are wondering why…you need to see the show.  Check out the doll.

I made some cookies too.  Thank goodness for Wilton’s easy to use fondant and candy eyes that make these things simple and fun.
