Turkey Cookie Ingredients
If you want to make this adorable Thanksgiving dessert recipe, these are the ingredients you are going to need.
- Gluten Free Oreo Sandwich Cookies (Gluten Free For Me)
- Candy Eyes
- Harvest Candy Corn
- Red Candies (M&Ms)
- Chocolate Almond Bark
- Yellow Candies if legs are desired (Chewy Bananas)
Directions for Oreo Turkey Cookies
The first step to making these adorable and super easy Oreo turkey cookies is to melt the chocolate almond bark in a glass dish. This can be done in the microwave or with a double boiler. Once the candy is melted, dip ONE side of each Double Stuf Oreo in and place on parchment paper.
While the melted candy is STILL melted on the cookie, add candy eyes and a candy for a gobble. NOTE that this needs to be done one at a time. The candy hardens pretty quickly and the eyes and gobbles won’t set into the chocolate once it hardens.
Once the candy hardens, push the pointy end of 5 candy corn into the cream filling around the top of the cookie above the eyes. These can be traditional candy corn or the darker colored version called harvest corn.
Add candy legs if desired – totally not necessary but adds a cute extra touch. Pair the cookies up with the FREE Thanksgiving Word Search Puzzle for a fun afternoon with the kiddos.
