Giant No Sew Patriotic Flag Pillow

This giant no sew patriotic flag pillow is super festive and bright!  It was not easy to make but worth every minute.  Working with Oly*Fun from Fairfield World is great because the material cuts like paper but acts like fabric.  It makes cutting super long strips simple which I like.  I love celebrating Independence Day and all that it stands for, even in the chaos of our nation today.  Decorating for the holiday reminds me of what matters; freedom, love and connections to fellow Americans.  This post is sponsored by Fairfield World but the ideas and opinions are my own.

You will need the following supplies to make this pillow.

The first step is the longest.  Cut 18 red and 18 white strips that measure 2 inches wide by 56 inches long.  Tie two red to a dowel rod (at the same time) leaving about a 3 inch tail.  Do this two more times.  Then do the same with white.

Repeat this until all of your strips are tied on.  Then tie the strips to the other dowel rod making sure the length of the pillow fits inside.  You will have to wait to slide the pillow in until you are done.  Then, slide the pillow in so that a few of the strips are on the back to hold it inside.

Cut yellow stars out and use hot glue to adhere them to a 9 x 12 piece of blue Oly*Fun.  Hot glue the blue piece to the pillow.

Ta Da!  This pillow is awesome for decoration but not really intended to be for heavy use.  Oly*Fun is not made for prolonged outdoor use so if you are putting your pillow on the porch like me, be sure to bring it in at night and during bad weather.

Happy Independence Day and Happy Creating,

Laura
