If you are wondering how to create patriotic goody bags to take to the fireworks, this post is for you! Kiddos get bored with all of the waiting so why not make them a bag filled with awesome entertainment and snacks. Of course the cuter and more festive the bags are, the better. These darling ones are made with a simple watercolor activity and amazing adhesive from Xyron, the Mega Runner. This post is sponsored by Xyron but the ideas and opinions are my own. Before I get into the project, I want to state that I love this tool. It works effortlessly and can be refilled so there is very little waste.
Before you get started, gather your supplies. You will need:
- Xyron Mega Runner
- Brown Lunch Sack Bags
- Watercolor Paint
- Watercolor Paper
- Brushes
- Water
- Black Permanent Marker
- Scissors
- Optional (Hole Punch, Ribbon, Clothespins)
Start by drawing a few patriotic designs on a piece of watercolor paper with a permanent marker. It has to be permanent so that when you paint the marker doesn’t leak into your design.
Paint the doodles and create another watercolor sheet of borders too.
Once the paint is dry, cut out the doodles and the frames.
Use the Xyron Mega Runner to apply adhesive to connect the doodles with the frames. If you look close at this photo, you can see the adhesive. I love the way it is tons of tiny dots of adhesive that work together to create a strong bond.
Ta Da!
Us the Mega Runner on the back of the borders to connect them to the lunch sacks before filling them up. Here are some great items to put in the bags.
- Bottle of Water
- Snack
- Printable Patriotic Word Search
- Pencils
- Stickers
- Sunglasses
- Flag
Assemble your bags and you are all ready to go!
