Sculpey Bake Shop Eraser Clay is a super pliable and easy to mold material which makes is perfect for kids or beginners who want to create holiday (and everyday) projects to celebrate the seasons. This is a great craft to do with a group of kids in a classroom, at a party or in a troop meeting.
Materials and Supplies Needed
- Sculpey Bake Shop Eraser Clay
- Silicone Mat
- White Plastic Clay Tools
- Oven for Baking
- Pencils
Directions
Start by opening the colors of clay that will be needed. If working with a group of kids, only give them the clay that they will need as it is needed. This will help keeps things on track and support all of them being successful.
Step One
Let’s make a pumpkin. Mix yellow and red clay together to make orange. To do this, roll it in your hands and play with it until it becomes a solid color. If it isn’t the orange you want the first time, add a little red or yellow at a time until you get the shade you desire.
Roll the clay into a ball that measures approximately 3/4 inch in diameter. Because it is going on the end of a pencil, you don’t want it to be to big or heavy.
Use a plastic tool with a pointy end to make a hole in the ball. This will help push the pencil in to what is going to become an eraser.
Push the pencil in and use your fingers to press the clay around the base, securing it to the pencil.
Step Two
Add details like a stem, leaf and face using other colors of clay. To make different colors, mix the ones in the package. Any color can be made with what you get in this collection.
Step Five
Make whatever other designs you would like using the same steps.
Then, put them on the silicone mat and onto a baking dish. Bake at 275 degrees for 12 minutes.
Step Seven
Remove from the oven and let cool completely. Once cool, the erasers are ready to use. Note that these can be made separately from the pencil too, as stand alone easers.
