I found myself watching them over and over again and wondering if I could master the art of making my own in my kitchen at home. I decided to give it a try. What is the worst thing that could happen – a sweet candy mess?

Ingredients to Make Christmas Hot Cocoa Bombs

These are the ingredients and the supplies that I used. You can substitute for a different mold if you prefer something else when you are learning How to Make Christmas Hot Chocolate Bombs. I added a whole fun list of additional ideas for things that you could add to make these holiday treats more festive for the season below.

Here are some of my favorite extra treats to include either inside the bombs or sprinkled on the outside for Christmas.

How to Make Christmas Hot Cocoa Bombs

Here are the directions to these delicious and festive season delights. They can be done with any color of chocolate which makes the options super crazy fun. I tend to stick with the basics (white and brown) but there are so many colors out there in the craft stores to choose from.

  1. Melt Chocolate and spread a layer on the inside of the mold, leaving the majority of the cavity empty. This is the first step to Make Christmas Hot Cocoa Bombs.
  2. Chill until chocolate hardens.
  3. Fill one half with hot cocoa mix and any extra yummies
  4. Dip the other half in melted chocolate and stick it the half that is filled to seal the bomb.
  5. Drizzle more melted chocolate over the top and add sprinkles or any of the extra yummies.

Hot Cocoa Bomb Tips

  1. Only do a few at a time.  The melted chocolate hardens faster than I thought.
  2. Use a glass bowl to melt the chocolate.  It is easier to see what you are working with.
  3. Allow yourself a few test batches.  It takes a little practice.
  4. Get a good coat of the melted chocolate on the mold so it doesn’t break or have holes. This is important 
  5. Use the same chocolate to seal the bombs as you use in the shells.
