Choosing a theme for a kid birthday party seems simple, right? I mean after all, kids all love the same things we sometimes think. I happen to believe that this is not true. Zoe’s birthday party when she turned nine was a ‘Sock Monkey Tie Dye Rainbow’ theme and I thought it was so super original. Well, today I must share that her friends have matched her creative craziness with their party theme. They are having a UniTater with Moves Like Michael Jackson party. I think letting kiddos choose their party themes matters!
Needless to say, there are not any supporting decorations pre-packaged in the party store for this. So, thanks to my awesome stash of Kunin felt, I went to work to help their mom (my bestie Laura from Housewife Hellraiser)! I made each of the girls (TWINS) pillows.
I kind of dig the tails with the trims and fringes.
I created a silly flat UniTater for the front door.
Then I made a dozen mini UniTaters for a garland or to be put on goodie bags or whatever she finds clever.
I think it is so important to let kids choose their own themes. They know what they love. They should be able to share their creative ideas and feel supported for being original. I love these two littles and can’t wait to hear about the party and see the photos. I hope Laura gets a video of them doing the Michael Jackson moves!
If you think this is fun, here are few more parties with felt decor.
Cheers to Being Unique,
Laura
What a cute and creative party theme!
