Make a Cricut Face Mask in Less Than 10 Minutes
It’s so true guys, you can make a Make a Cricut Face Mask in Less Than 10 Minutes and I am super excited to show you how! This is a GREAT way to get kids involved in the making process because they are certainly capable of cutting ribbon, placing material on the cutting mats and trimming strings. I used my Cricut Maker for this project because it is AWESOME for cutting Oly-Fun using the Rotary Blade. This is the Cricut Maker bundle that I recommend!
What Will You Need to Make a Cricut Face Mask in Less Than 10 Minutes
- Oly-Fun (2 12/12 sheets per mask)
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Machine Mat
- Straight Pins
- Ribbon ( 4 18″ pieces)
- Sewing Machine (Could also hand stitch or use fabric glue)
Cricut has FREE mask patterns in Design Space right now. There are sizes for different heads including kiddos. The size that I recommend for MOST people if you are using Oly-Fun would be the Adult S/M Face Mask, using ONLY the first cut page.
Using the first file, cut FOUR pieces of the same size (two time through the Cricut Maker) using the setting for Acrylic Felt. Pin the four pieces together and pin. Sew ONLY along the curved edge leaving 1/8 inch seam and a 1/8 inch at either end not sewn.
Remove the pin and flip the mask.
Fold the top center of the mask down about 1/4 inch and pin.
Pin an 18 inch piece of ribbon IN BETWEEN layers in each of the four corners of the mask.
Sew around the outside edge and BAM, you are done. If you want the mask to have more layers, a regular machine can easily sew through 4 layers of Oly*Fun at a time.
I am not going to say that I LOVE wearing a mask but I will admit that I love making them!
Oly*Fun works GREAT as a filer for masks with pockets too. You can sew layers together to get the desired filter.
Here is a link to another easy sew mask idea. It is a little more difficult but works for a beginning sewer.
If you are home with kiddos and need some fun activities, my printable library is FREE right now! This Covid-19 Time Capsule is my newest resource and it is super relevant to what we are all experiencing right now.
Sending love to all of you,
