Saint Patrick’s Day Gold Coins Jar Gift Idea FREE SVG File
Making gifties and taking them to my friends for every reason and season possible makes me so happy. For Saint Patrick’s Day, it is super fun to give the gift of gold, candy that is. Shiny foiled coins are easy to find thanks to online shopping so this gift is completely doable, even if it is your first ever digital cut file craft. I love it because it could be added a part of a larger gift basket filled with Irish beer, snacks and decorations.
Supplies to Make Saint Patrick’s Day Gold Coins Jar
- Cricut Joy
- Permanent Vinyl (White or Gold) for Cricut Joy
- Weeding Tool (Cricut of Course)
- Glass Jar
- Gold Covered Chocolate Candy
- Ribbon or Fabric in Rainbow Colors
- Twine
If you plan to add any card stock embellishments, you will also need the mat for the Cricut Joy.
Directions to Make Gold Coin Jar Gifts
Download the FREE SVG file for the word ‘GOLD’ and put into Design Space. Size it to be the appropriate size for the jar that you are planning to fill with the shiny coins. Cut it out on the vinyl color of choice.
Once it is cut out, use a weeding tool to remove the insides of the letters. I made it in white and gold.
Apply the vinyl letters to a jar to be filled with Saint Patrick’s Day Gold Coins. Be sure to press them down completely as the jar is rounded so it could be tricky.
To create a shamrock for the top of the jar, use a scrap of decorative green paper AND the adorable tiny mat made just for the Cricut Joy. There are shamrocks RIGHT in Design Space so grab any of them.
Fill the jar will gold candies and put the lid on. Using twine and ribbons, create a darling bow around the top of the jar.
Fun Way to Use the Coins
I love finding ways to turn holidays into opportunities to learn and teach. Use the Saint Patrick’s Day Gold Coins to learn about probabilty and brush up on some math skills. Here is a fun free printable that you can download and use for this activity.
