Yay! A FREE Harry Potter Wordsearch
Creating a blended family is a gift. While it is amazing and offers so much love and growth, it has it’s challenges. When Ryp and I got married in 2012, we honeymooned in Orlando and volunteered at Give Kids the World Village. We did take some time for fun and played for a couple of days in the Universal Studios Orlando parks and at City Walk. Because our kids were not completely thrilled to NOT be accompanying us, we took a sock monkey along so that he could be the center of the photos we shared upon our return. Our thinking was that they would enjoy finding him in the photographs and offer us the opportunity to share the experiences. It worked. The loved the photos and we have told many stories…so many that they want to go to the parks in the worst way. Here are some of those photos from Sock Monkey Visits Universal Studios.
Okay let’s look at some of the places the sock monkey was hidden…
My favorite one is Sock Monkey in T-Rex’s mouth which was taken outside the Jurassic Park Discovery Center (an AMAZING building filled with dinosaur everything)!
We had such a blast in Harry Potter’s world. For hours, I felt like a witch married to a wizard.
And this picture!!!! This picture of THE Lorax! The Lorax is one of my all time favorite stories and I love the world of Dr. Seuss so much.
This one is my favorite because it reminds me of when the boys were little and we went to Universal. They rode Popeye’s and Blut0’s Bilge-Rat Barges over and over and over!!! The loved playing in Popeye’s boat too….for hours and hours. The memories of kids at Universal are priceless!
We printed the maps to both parks!!! The girls made me a list of the rides and places they want to see most. I turned it into a word search for them to do. Ironically, they are clearly most excited about than any other part of the parks! This is the first of many activities we will do to prepare for our trip so stay tuned if you like this kind of fun planning stuff. I love this free Harry Potter wordsearch puzzle.
We try to find ways to include our kids, all four of them, while maintaining our own independent adult relationship (aka marriage). Some things work. Some do not. Sock Monkey pictures work! If you have a great parenting tip that works, please share it in the comments. We are all in this crazy world together and I believe that it really does take a village. Let me know if you have a “must see or do” idea for Universal too!
You can download the puzzle HERE. Please note that Flight of the Hippogrif is NOT in the puzzle.

On the Harry Potter Word Search, “flight of the hippogriff” is STILL missing! I have been all over that page and still can NOT find it anywhere! Is there an updated version of this yet??? Thanks!! My ENTIRE family is a set of H.P. enthusiasts and LOVE everything having to do with the world of H.P, so this was a fun find! 😉
Unfortunately, I can’t change it. I am adding a mention in the post that it is not there.
