When my kids (both autistic, among other things) were younger, and could not read well, I read all the Harry Potter books aloud, partial chapters at a time, during dinner. (The one time when I might keep their attention.) We went through the entire series that way. My daughter still loves the books, and is re-reading them. (We lost my son before the series ended, but no doubt, he listened to the rest of the books from heaven.)

Now, sooo many years later, my youngest daughter has read through every single one with the exact same excitement!
