Upcycled Old Window DIY Message Board

Nothing beats a good upcycled project that turns out adorable, useful and simply fabulous like this Upcycled Window DIY Message Board! I have had this window hanging in my studio for a very long time with a wreath on it but decided it could be so much more useful. With a constant need to have notes, orders, and messages posted — this Upcycled Window Message Board created a perfect solution. I used my favorite hemp cord from Hemptique because it is durable, easy to work with and comes in the very best colors. I LOVE this for a good back to school project to help get organized too! Let’s make something with this upcycled old window.

Materials and Supplies Needed for Upcycled Window DIY Message Board

Directions

Start by cleaning the window and adding any paint details desired.

When it is dry and clean, it is ready to be wrapped in cord. Wrap each color around the window tightly 3-5 times then tie off in a tight knot.

Trim excess cord and tie bows to add a special touch of fun to the project. This upcycled old window is so pretty for this project idea.

A nice touch is to spread the bows out across different widths of the window.

Use mini clothespins to attach item to the board.

Here is a list of fun items that you can attach to your message board to make it personalized and fun.

Reasons to Decorate Your Studio or Office Space

There are so many great reasons to decorate your studio or office space.  The decor determines the mood and the feel for you and all who enter. It is a form of expression.  A studio that is well decorated can lower anxiety and create a sense of ease and peace.  Different rooms can have different vibes determined solely by the decor — from the colors to the furniture to the accent decor.  Here are my top five reasons to decorate your studio and invest in the process.

  1. A well decorated room creates a space for healthy working including the atmosphere as well as the functionality.
  2. Decorated spaces can promote well being, creativity, calmness, etc.
  3. It is fun.
  4. Studio decor can change with the seasons, the holidays, and the times. It is a way to update style.
  5. There are no rules to studio decorating. Your space is unique to you.
