Harry Potter Christmas Ornament Brooms
Magic is everywhere, especially at Christmastime. Of course everything Harry Potter is filled with magic too. I am decorating a complete tree themed with Harry Potter and so I whipped up these Harry Potter Christmas Ornament Brooms for all four of the houses. Of course Hufflepuff has my heart because that is the house I belong to. Handmade ornaments are the best because they create memories while being made and then again every year when they get added to the tree.
Let’s Make Harry Potter Christmas Ornament Brooms
Material Needed:
- Dowel Rods (Or Pencils)
- Therm-O-Web Easy Tear Tape
- Deli Wrap Paper (or Kraft Paper but Deli Wrap Works Better)
- Twine
- Ribbon in House Colors
- Scissors
Directions to make Harry Potter Christmas Ornament Brooms
Step One
Start by cutting a piece of the deli paper 12 inches by 3 inches in size. Deli paper works best because it has a coating that will help make the paper roll easier and the broom top last longer without ripping.
Step Two
Put a line of Therm-O-Web Easy Tear Tape along the entire length of your cut paper.
Step Three
Cut fringe the entire length the paper up to about 1/4 inch from the tape line.
Step Four
Peel the backing off of the tape.
Step Five
Roll the paper on to the dowel rod (or pencil).
Step Six
Add wrapped twine around the base of the fringe and secure with the tape.
Step Seven
Tie twine to the top of the dowel rod and secure with a little craft glue if necessary. Add a ribbon.

Ten Reasons to Craft for The Holidays
I am going to say this again. Crafting is just a great idea. It is proven that crafting can be really good for mental and emotional health. Studies show that making and crafting can lower anxiety. Another benefit to crafting is that it creates connection. When we make things and give them to others, we spread kindness and love. Here are my top ten reasons to craft with kids, and I mean kids of all ages.
- Mental Health Benefits – Crafting puts me in a good mood.
- Self Expression – Crafting allows me to express myself.
- Education and Growth – I learn new skills by making things.
- Connection – Crafting connects me others through workshops, classes and gifting.
- Decor – Through making and crafting, I can totally customize every aspect of my decor.
- Gift Giving – Gifts is totally my love language. I love to make handmade gifts.
- Offline Time – Crafting keeps me off of my phone and social media. We all know this can be beneficial.
- Income – Because I craft and sell items that I make, I have an additional income source.
- Fun – I like to have fun and to me, making things is fun.
- Socializing – Attending events where crafting is a part gets me out and around others with like minds.
