Mother’s Day is a great time for kids to get creative and make something special for moms, grandmothers, step-moms, and just-like-moms. These darling hand painted wood magnets are a perfect little gift that a mom can really put to great use and they don’t take long to make. I am excited to share this project as a part of the Craft Lightning 2017 Mother’s Day series promoting crafts that can be made quickly. If you don’t already follow along with Angie from Country Chic Cottage and Carolina from 30 Minute Crafts, you might want to go check them out. They are both full of inspiration and the creative hearts behind this series.
You will need the following supplies.
- Wooden Circles
- Acrylic Paint (Apple Barrel)
- Paintbrushes
- Mod Podge
- Magnets
- Glue (Liquid Fusion)
The first step is to paint your wooden circles. If you are doing a solid background, paint it first and let it dry.
When I paint a black background, I paint my design in white first before adding color.
Add a thick coat of Mod Podge once the paint is dry to seal it and make them shine. Then add your magnets to the back with glue.
Ta Da!
Cheers to All the Moms!
