Valentine Mailbox Dinosaur Directions
Using scissors, remove the flaps from the four sides of the cardboard cracker box. Trace the height of the cracker box onto a piece of bright green cardstock with a pencil, and then cut out with scissors.
Wrap and fold the cardstock around the front, sides, and back of the box, creasing the folds firmly.
TIP: You can also use Kunin Felt Craft Cuts, craft foam, or construction paper to complete this project.

Attach the folded piece of bright green cardstock to the front of the box using a glue gun and glue sticks. Then, secure the folded sections to the sides and back of the box.
TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to add drying time. I do not recommend kids’ glue sticks for this project as the adhesive is not strong enough.

Trace the front of the cracker box onto a second piece of bright green cardstock with a pencil, then cut out with scissors. Attach to the front of the box with a glue gun and glue sticks.

Download, print, and cut out the DINOSAUR PATTERNS from the bottom of this post. Trace the head once, the tail once, the arms twice, and the legs twice onto bright green cardstock, the teeth once onto white cardstock, the heart “spots” onto blue cardstock, and the heart “scales” 12 times onto purple cardstock with a pencil.

Cut out all the traced patterns with scissors, cutting inside the lines to create a clean finished project.

Attach the teeth to the back of the dinosaur’s mouth and a wiggle eye to the top of the head with a glue gun and glue sticks. Draw two nostrils for the dinosaur’s nose, then outline the arms and legs with a black marker.

Glue the head to the inside of the cracker box. Fold the tab along the end of the tail and attach it to the side of the cracker box using a glue gun and glue sticks.

Starting at the upper left-hand side of the box, attach 12 purple hearts to the tail and head of the dinosaur. Glue the arms and legs onto the box. Use the photo for accurate placement.

Attach three (or more) blue hearts to the dinosaur to create “spots” using a glue gun and glue sticks.
To finish, add your child’s name to the mailbox using letter stickers or a marker before taking it into the classroom.
