DIY Luna Lovegood Radish Earrings

Use a mini cookie cutter to create darling earrings from polymer clay like these DIY Luna Lovegood Radish Earrings.

Luna Lovegood is my FAVORITE Harry Potter character from both the Harry Potter books and movies. I love everything magical from the wizarding world, especially creating projects that remind me of my favorite characters and parts of the stories.

Materials and Supplies Needed

Directions

Start by conditioning your clay. To do this take the desired amount (1/2 pack of 2 oz) for the radish and roll in hands until soft and plyable.

Step One

Roll clay on silicone mat to a 1/8 inch thickness.

Step Two

Use the cutter to cut out TWO carrots/radishes in the BERRY. Then condition the SPRING GREEN with a bit of darker green and roll out to cut the TOP part of the cutter. Use the knife tool to cut the clay so that you have a BERRY bottom for the radish and a green top.

Step Three

Use your hands to gently “mash” the two pieces together. Roll GENTLY over the top with the roller tool to flatten into one surface without making the piece any thinner if desired. If a bumpy look is preferred, skip this rolling step.

Use the ball end of one of the white sculpting tools to gently push into the clay and create little bumps, giving the pieces texture.

Step Four

Add holes to the tops of the earrings, about 1/8 inch from the top, using the pointed end of one of the white tools. Make sure that it is close enough to the top that a jump ring will fit through it but also not too close that it is too fragile.

Step Five

Bake the clay designs at 275 degrees in a preheated oven for 15 minutes and then let cool completely. If you want to protect the earrings a bit and add a little shine, paint on a layer of Sculpey Gloss Glaze.

Step Six

Add the earring findings to turn your clay radishes into beautiful jewelry pieces, just like Luna Lovegood would wear.
